Current trends.

Dresses:
You are always going to be better off with a long floor-length dresses. Another model that stays in style is the A-shape because it is very simple - slim at the waist and opens at the bottom. Ruffles and soft satin fabrics are a popular choice for dresses nowadays. Little garments like pearls and crystals add a nice and simple touch to the dress, it is not too extravagent yet it makes it less boring. Colors to definitely keep in mind are: platinum, black and ivory.

Accessories:
The most important thing to keep in mind after choosing the dress is the accessories. If your dress has too much going on, then less is better, you do not want to look too busy when the key factor is to look elegant. If your dress is the opposite of busy then you definitely want to accent your looks by adding the correct accessories. If you are thinking of a veil, nowadays long veils are out of the question. Go for a short veil or even try using a 30s look by purchasing a bird cage veil. Pearls, rhinestones, and crystals are your best option for jewelry.

Hair:
In this case it all depends on the shape of your face and your dress. The best are long wavy curls or pinned up. Using ornaments in your hair is also a popular option, but think of your dress, and then your jewelry. You are trying to look elegant, remember that.
Old, new, borrowed and blue?
This is a wedding custom that a lot of people still follow, and there is also a number of people who decide to leave it out for not having enough ideas, thinking it might add on the budget but honestly it is so easy! For the Old, it can be a gown passed on from your relatives, or something simple like a handkerchiefs. For the New, it should be something that symbolizes your future, so a good idea would be your shoes. For the Blue, it should be the garter since it goes under and that way it does not throw off your colors. For the Borrowed, it could be any accessory. Keep in mind, these items should be thought off as you purchase your gown and accessories.
Vow and Reception Ideas.
A lot of people stick to the original vows because yours are so personal which is why not a lot of places allow you to personalize them. But if you do decide to write your own vows then you have to keep certain things in mind. Write an outline. Figure out what will be your tone: serious, funny, etc. Plan it as a couple and maybe even practice it together. After writing it, proofread it and cut down a lot because most likely your vows will be really long.
These are just some of the strongest points you can include or gain ideas from:
- Start from the beginning - if it is a pretty story about you met.
- When did you know you had fallen in love?
- How is your life better with him/her?
- Do the "before I met you"s and "Now that I am with you"s
- Talk about any song, movie, etc that reminds you of him/her
- What are you looking forward to in the next 5, 10, 20+ years?
- Tell a story no one knows about. Not too personal, of course.
- How will you change for each other?
- You could also do a slideshow of pictures together.
All the difficult stuff are basically out of the way. By this point you have already had your ceremony, your vows, etc. Now it is time to have fun! It is important to have your reception reflect who you are, the theme of your wedding and anything that might connect to the ceremony. Decorations such as centerpieces and confettis are important, they should be the first thing that pops out when entering the room. Vases, flower arrangements, candles and chinese lanterns are popular items for centerpieces. A lot of couples are using fondues or candy buffets, allowing the guests to take some home as a wedding favor. For more ideas on wedding favors go to the
