Catering two ladies

Catering at your wedding

Your grandma or aunt Jennifer who have been known for cooking the best food might not be your best option. Not that they cannot cook and that you might save money but they probably will not be able to keep the food at the right temperature, that there will be enough for everyone, etc. Picking a buffet over a sit-down dinner might be a better idea that way you can ensure that your guests are picking what they will want to eat and that they are picking the right size for them (it is also cheaper). Hopefully your husband's cousin does not eat all the baked potatoes! Have an interview with your cater(s) and make sure you get a history of their work. Specify of any food allergies or restrictions. Having a salad bar and bread rolls is definitely something to keep in mind. Also, if you are having kids at your wedding, ask how many so you may get an estimate and figure out finger foods or hot dogs for them.

Flower favors

Favors that will make people remember

Favors are a significant part of your wedding, it is what people leave your wedding with besides the memories. You can find favors as low as $1.00/favor but of course it adds up if you have more than 100 people but this should not be something you have to worry about, it is about one of the cheapest things in your wedding cost. When picking your favors you should think of buying something practical, something they can use and not just throw away. For example, a bottle opener, salt and pepper shakers, wine glasses or even just candy! Something you can keep in mind is having M and Ms personalized, who doesn't love M and Ms, seriously? You can have a little message on the back and that way people will enjoy it and remember what a cool idea you had for your favors. Think of a simple message like "thank you for sharing this day with us..." or maybe a bible passage or a quote.

Couple at a wedding and gifts

Get the right gifts

Nowadays it has become easier to have a gift registry rather than have people guess what a couple would want or need for their post-wedding. Sometimes people duplicate gifts and it is embarrasing to ask for a return or an exchange of gifts. Gift registries and better, and if your a newlyweds couple you probably need everything brand new for your new home. Make a list and have the things that you need the most at the top that way you can make sure people get those and the little things they missed out on you can get them later on. Make sure you talk to the gift registry company and make sure it is free for you, a lot of companies do not charge and if they do is a very low price. You can go into the actual store and view the items you want and scan them -- adding it to your list. This is one of the things you should do as a couple so it can be choices you both agree on. Do not just stick to one place, try one or two more. A gift registry that is very popular is WedGifts you can do it online that way people who are in another state can pick their gift and have it shipped to you, it works great!

Photographer and couple

Photography tips

Meeting your photographer is like having a first date. There needs to be chemistry, if you do not get along there will be problems at the wedding. There needs to be good communication because he/she needs to be professional and still be able to listen to your needs. Like a caterer, you need to ask for history of work so you can ensure good work. Most photographers will give you a package which has a specific cost but most let you add deals. Most mail-in the proofs so also, ask how long will that take, you need to get as much information as possible. Do not be afraid to ask!
